Betulla short and long sleeves

English seam + overstitch
This guide will help you finish your Betulla long sleeves with english seams:
- sew a standard seam;
- press the seam open;
- trim one of the sides of the seam allowance to half of its width;
- Fold the long side on the short side encasing the raw edges, and press;
- Stitch the fold
The guide is designed for mobile phones, so you can easily follow the steps while you work.
1. Align the two shoulder panels with the back panel and sew with 10 mm allowance.

2. Place front and back panels true side with true side, then gather the fabric of the front and back panel inside the shoulder panels and sew the shoulders.

3. Turn inside out.

4. Fold seams towards the back, pin and sew.

5. Pin the neckline and sew a stay stitch.

6. Prepare the front placket: draw the reference lines on the right side of fabric and fold the placket as shown.

7. Align the plackets to the neck and to the references, mark the end stitch points and sew.

8. Cut out the center part and cut the corner at 45 degrees to connect with the end of the stitch line. This creates a tab that you fold towards the inside.
9. Fold the plackets to their final size, and insert the excess behind the tab. Pin the plackets.

10. Turn the shirt inside out and sew the tab to the plackets from the wrong side.

11. Turn the shirt, sew the plackets from the right side.

12. Finish the placket with bias tape.

13. Prepare the neck: sew with 1 cm allowance, then trim the corners and cut slits in the allowance.

14. Pin the neck and sew from the right side. Remember to place the orange tab!

15. Pin the sleeves to the shoulders and sew with a 15 mm allowance, then press. Trim the allowance towards the shoulder to 7mm.

16. Fold the wider allowance over the narrower one, then fold the seam towards the shoulder and sew.

17. Sew the sides with a 15 mm allowance and press. Trim the allowance on the back side to 7 mm, fold the longer over the shorter, fold the seam towards the back, press and sew.

18. Finish with a 30 mm hem. Fold the edges at 40 mm, then fold inside 10 mm of the raw edge to encase it in the hem.
Sew… and done! Congratulations!
