We start our learning process with a three-hour assessment tour with exercises of different complexity. The first assignment is to sew together some pieces of scrap fabric following some patterns that we have prepared for you, under the supervision of a master maker. If you have troubles completing the tasks, you are a junior learner. At this level, we unfortunately cannot sponsor you, and you have to pay for your training. As soon as you are able to successfully complete the exercises, you become a learner. Usually, a couple of three-hour sessions are enough to reach this level. The cost for a three hour practice is 12 EUR and the proceedings are used to pay for the material and for the trainer.
If you pass immediately the first assignment, you are a learner, and receive a new assignment: to produce our soon-to-be-legendary bandannas. A master maker will be supervising you, and if the quality is good, you can start producing your first lot, which covers for your training expenses, including materials. After you’ve produced the quota, and warmed up your sewing muscles, you receive a third set of exercises. If you have trouble completing them, you will repeat the cycle (bandannas and exercises) until you are ready to become a junior maker. As a junior maker, you will be able to make luxury basics (like shirts and pants) for yourself, and for your loved ones, but not for the general public.
If you pass the first and second assignment, you receive a third and last one. You will now produce a sample of items on high demand, and if your first quota passes the quality check, congratulations! you are a maker, and can produce for the general public. You will be paid a certain amount per item, unless you decide to keep it for yourself and pay for it by making extra ones for wear | us, or by covering material and maintenance costs. wear | us luxury basics are designed to allow a maker to earn approximately 40 EUR per hour, depending on her/his speed and ability. The last step, from maker to master maker, is a matter of exercise. As a master maker you will be tutoring other makers, and coordinating production crews.

You only pay for the training if you are a junior learner, and you only pay for the session that you take. The cost is 12 EUR for a session of three hours. Three hours is the minimum amount of time where you can reasonably learn and get up to speed.
wear | us is investing a lot of resources to create learn&work environments that are beautiful beyond expectations. We organise little performances and parallel activities while you learn&work, so you can have fun, or stay updated and discuss about the things that are happening in the world, or lean something new and unexpected. For this reason, we prefer if you show up and learn&work at our centre.
However, if you have special circumstances and absolutely need to work from home, we can arrange differently based on your specific needs.
Any master maker is allowed to assess your level. However her/his decision is reviewed by the other master makers before your level is confirmed.
At the moment wear | us levels are not recognized by official certification schemes. We are working on that.
